Position Summary: The Shipper / Receiver is responsible for shipping, receiving, and recording deliveries for the London Police Service. This position also administers and supports activities related to inventory for Quartermaster and Stationary Stores.
Responsibilities
- Receive and distribute packages, parcels and other goods delivered to the London Police Service (LPS).
- Accept and sign for deliveries and pick-ups for/from the organization.
- Notify departments and members of supplies and/or equipment for pick-up.
- Receive, log, and sort packages, parcels and other goods delivered to the LPS.
- Ensure packages, parcels and other goods are received in good order, and record damaged goods.
- Dispose of excess packing material (e.g., wood skids and cardboard).
- Ensure confidential documentation arriving by courier is secured in appropriate area.
- Prepare outgoing shipments and ensure accurate completion the appropriate paperwork.
- Track courier packages, providing tracking documentation to the requestor.
- Maintain up-to-date shipping and receiving logs.
- Weigh packages, determine method of shipment, arrange shipment, and prepare shipping documents.
- Monitor freight charges to obtain the most cost-efficient shipping rates.
- Liaise with custom authorities and broker to provide necessary documentation and ensure compliance with customs clearance process and regulations.
- Provide resolution to shipping and receiving discrepancies in coordination with appropriate personnel.
- Administer activities related to the inventory process for Quartermaster and Stationary Stores.
- Pick and pack goods and supplies to fill authorized uniform and equipment requisitions.
- Issue authorized Quartermaster stocked uniform and equipment according to established procedures and policies.
- Complete cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Participate in annual inventory audit process.
- Provide front-line customer service to Quartermaster Stores counter, responding to inquiries and requests as required.
- Enter data of incoming and outgoing transactions to the Inventory Management System and internal record keeping ledgers.
- Assist with purchasing/ordering and receiving of product related to Quartermaster and Stationary Stores.
- Assist with shredding of purged documents and used/obsolete uniform and equipment.
- Assist with incoming and outgoing mail delivery process, such as receiving, logging, and sorting mail and distributing inter-departmental mail to appropriate areas.
- Operate and perform basic maintenance of postal machine, including arranging for its service and maintenance.
- Ensure appropriate level of mailroom, shipping/receiving and courier supplies is maintained.
- Other duties as assigned within the core competencies.
Requirements
- Secondary School Diploma or equivalent plus work-related program up to one academic year in duration.
- 6-12 months’ related experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills where problems, situations and responsibilities are covered by standards, precedents, and procedures.
- Effective communication skills required for regular in-person contact with members of the public to give, obtain and/or exchange routine information or decisions requiring general discussion and explanation to ensure understanding.
Benefits/Pension:
Temporary members receive ten percent (10%) of their hourly rate in lieu of benefits (after 120 calendar days) and are also eligible to join the OMERS Pension Plan upon their first day of hire.
Hours of Duty:
Day shift; Monday-Friday

Position Summary:
The Payroll and Benefits Coordinator is responsible for the accurate processing of employee time and attendance, payroll maintenance, scheduling, and benefit and pension related records.
Responsibilities:
- Process employee time and attendance, payroll, salary, benefits, and pension related records.
- Input daily exceptions to time and attendance (e.g., overtime, time off taken, sick time, etc.) and payroll and benefits related changes.
- Generate and maintain ongoing changes to employee schedules in relation to time off, courses, training, transfers, etc., while adhering to the Working Agreement and Memorandums of Understanding (MOU).
- Generate vacation entitlement and vacation selection files to assist employees with scheduling holidays.
- Advise Supervisor of any changes to a member’s schedule, payroll, and/or benefits that conflict with the working agreement, MOUs, and established procedures.
- Maintain benefit elections, beneficiary changes, employee elections, and accrual entitlements by ensuring accurate enrolment, unenrollment and/or changes of employee/retiree status in all group benefits, insurances, and pension plans, and monitor all accrual balances.
- Meet with employees requesting a change to benefits or pension.
- Ensure employee retirements, resignations, and leaves of absences are updated and submitted to the relevant agency (e.g., Service Canada, OMERS).
- Reconcile employee accrual balances, review, and make adjustments for negative balances, including reconciliations for members off on short and long-term absences.
- Respond to inquiries from employees, supervisors, retirees and/or outside agencies and organizations by email, phone or in person.
- Prepare bi-weekly, monthly, and yearly reports and other report requests for statistical, analytical, financial, organizational, and/or cost recovery purposes.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive personnel information.
- Other duties as assigned within the core competencies.

Charge Preparation Coordinator (Temporary) |

Position Summary: Working within a small team, Charge Preparation Coordinators are responsible for assembling, auditing, and processing all charge packages related to criminal and provincial charges.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble and audit all criminal and provincial charge packages.
- Add entries to the Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) relating to Appearance Notices, Summonses, and Undertakings.
- Prepare all Part I Provincial Offence matters to ensure they are filed with the Provincial Courts within the legislated timeframe.
- Notify Officers when corrections are needed on Provincial Offence Matters.
- Prepare Information, summonses and disclosure of all Part lll and Long form Summons Provincial Offence matters.
- Prepare packages and disclosure for Part I Provincial Offence matters Notice of Trials.
- Request officer duty book notes and follow up with requests for disclosure of criminal and provincial matters as required.
- Track received conduct fees from external agencies for member testimonies in Civilian matters.
- Process Provincial Offence appeals requested from either defendant or prosecution.
- Receive Early Resolution requests from Provincial Courts and prepare electronic court folder with disclosure needed.
- Review, process, and disclose required Ministry of Transportation (MTO) reports and CPIC checks for all criminal and provincial charges.
- Fulfill requests from Provincial Offence Act (POA) prosecution for additional disclosure.
- Audit Part I and Part III offences, including Long Form Summons.
- Review General occurrences and criminal Bench warrants for accuracy and ensure all required documents are attached for disclosure.
- Maintain an accurate and current warrant log.
- Respond to inquiries from officers regarding administrative procedures.
- Perform general administrative duties such as filing, scanning, and photocopying.
- Provide training to cadets and civilian staff on creating charge packages.
- Edit and maintain Criminal, Federal, and Provincial Offence charge wordings with in-house references.
- Other duties as assigned within the core competencies.
Requirements
- Secondary School Diploma or equivalent.
- 6-12 months’ experience in office administration or a related field.
- Strong problem-solving skills for decisions that usually involve selecting from one of several optimal or existing set of solutions or protocols.
- Strong communication skills for regular contact with LPS members, community organizations, and members of the public to give, obtain and/or exchange routine information or decisions requiring general discussion, and explanation to ensure understanding.
Benefits/Pension:
Temporary members receive ten percent (10%) of their hourly rate in lieu of benefits (after 120 calendar days) and are also eligible to join the OMERS Pension Plan upon their first day of hire.
Hours of Duty:
Rotating 10-hour shifts; Monday to Sunday; 0600-1600 hrs. Members may be required to provide 24 hours per day coverage, subject to operational review as per Memorandum of Understanding

Systems Analyst, Information Technology Branch (Permanent) |

Position Summary:
The Systems Analyst provides Tier 2 support for all London Police Service (LPS) Information Technology (IT) equipment and performs lifecycle management of LPS IT infrastructure equipment. They create technical documentation and maintain the security of LPS systems. The Systems Analyst also provides advice and guidance to Tier 1 technicians and other members of the LPS.
Responsibilities:
- Provide London Police Service (LPS) members with Tier 2 technical support for end user devices (e.g., computers, smartphones, desk phones, MDTs, printers, etc.)
- Troubleshoot reported software or hardware issues by investigating, analyzing, and diagnosing the issue and implementing and validating the solution.
- Deploy, maintain, repair, upgrade, and decommission LPS IT infrastructure hardware (e.g., servers, switches, firewall) and software.
- Identify and research quality improvements to IT products and services and analyze the impact changes may have on the critical production systems at LPS.
- Provide functional advice and guidance as a subject-matter expert within team and across organization.
- Create and maintain technical documentation of IT services.
- Provide insight, recommendations, and knowledge toward systems, hardware and applications deployed.
- Ensure IT services are efficient, secure, reliable, and high performing.
- Maintain security of LPS applications, network, and infrastructure devices.
- Other duties as assigned within the core competencies.
- Redact video and audio utilizing forensic software, with intent to screen sensitive content, identities, and/or unrelated entities to protect safety and confidentiality.
- Utilize LPS surveillance systems to assess and disclose Headquarters Detention Unit (HQDU) cell book-in video and interior/exterior video.

Requirements
- 3-year post-secondary education in Information Technology or equivalent.
- 3 years’ related experience in technical support.
- Strong problem-solving skills and judgement required to make decisions from numerous/broader range of alternatives covered by standards and precedents of a general nature; for producing a wide range of products requiring a high degree of accuracy and close tolerances; and for maintaining highly technical equipment.
- Excellent communication skills for regular contact with LPS members, contractors, and vendors to give, obtain, and/or exchange, and/or discuss technical information or decisions requiring discussion or explanation to ensure full understanding, with tact, self-control, and persuasiveness.
