HIT-AND-RUN INVESTIGATION
Pedestrian transported to hospital with serious injuries

UPDATE - LONDON, ON (February 16, 2024) – Members of the London Police Service Traffic Management Unit are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect vehicle involved in the hit-and-run investigation that took place in the early morning hours on Monday, February 12, 2024, on Highbury Avenue North and Florence Street.

Through the course of the investigation, police learned the suspect vehicle is described as a dark coloured sedan with damage to the front grill, hood, or windshield. The suspect vehicle was last seen travelling west on Huron Street from Highbury Avenue North.

Members of the LPS Traffic Management Unit are sharing video surveillance of the suspect vehicle travelling on Highbury Avenue North from Florence Street. The vehicle can be seen operating with only daytime running lights on after the collision.

Investigators are asking any member of the public that may have been in the area of Highbury Avenue North between Florence and Huron streets and Huron Street west of Highbury Avenue North between 3:10 a.m. – 3:30 a.m., who may have dash-cam, residential or business video surveillance that could assist with the investigation, to contact the London Police Service.

LONDON, ON (February 12, 2024) – Members of the London Police Service are currently investigating a serious motor vehicle collision that took place early this morning.

Shortly after 3a.m., emergency crews responded to the intersection of Highbury Avenue North and Florence Street in relation to a report that a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle.

An adult male was transported to hospital by paramedic services with serious injuries.

The involved vehicle had fled from the scene prior to police arrival.

Members of the Traffic Management Unit remain at the scene as they carry out their investigation. Highbury Avenue North will be closed between Dundas Street and Brydges Street until the investigation is complete.

The Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS) will be flying in the area of Highbury Avenue North, between Dundas Street and Bryges Street, to assist with the collision investigation. 

The investigation is ongoing. Investigators are appealing to members of the public who may have been in the area at the time, or who may have dash-cam footage or video surveillance that could assist with the investigation, to contact them.
